We spoke with Gaby Gonzalez, founder of Rendon Bookkeeping, to discuss how receiving the 2023 William G. Nash Social Impact Grant helped her grow her business and advance her goal of spreading financial literacy education in her community.
Gaby Gonzalez was one of the recipients of the 2023 William G. Nash Social Impact Grant, seeking to use the grant to grow her business, Rendon Bookkeeping.
Gaby was passionate about using her business as a platform to share financial literacy education with minority small business owners, particularly Spanish-speaking immigrants. She aimed to do this by creating and sharing educational content on social media, speaking at small business events, and working directly with minority small business owners.
We recently heard from Gaby, who shared exciting updates on her progress.
Rendon Bookkeeping continues to grow, and Gaby has been working on a range of projects, primarily helping her clients who often lack language and financial skills. Her mission to spread financial literacy education in her community is thriving. You can see some of her efforts on the Rendon Bookkeeping Instagram page.
A few months ago, Gaby was also a speaker at a San Francisco business conference for Latino and African American business owners, where she spoke about the fundamentals of bookkeeping and how it can help their businesses.
Gaby is continuing to grow her own skills as a business owner and recently completed the Entrepreneurship for All (EforAll) program. EforAll is a nonprofit organization that partners with communities nationwide to help under-represented individuals successfully start and grow their businesses through intensive business training, mentorship and an extended professional support network.
We asked Gaby how the William G. Nash Social Impact Grant has helped her and what she’s planning for the future:
“I found out about the William G. Nash Social Impact Grant last year through 10,000 Degrees* and believed that it was a great opportunity.”
*10,000 Degrees is the leading, equity-focused scholarship provider and college success nonprofit in California, providing scholarships for students from low-income backgrounds
“The grant provided me with resources to expand my business and assist more clients. Moving forward, my future goals include further growing my business, advancing my education to specialize more deeply in accounting as a CPA and developing an education program tailored for minority-owned businesses. Additionally I plan to continue promoting the William G. Nash Social Impact Grant by sharing my experience with students and presenting my testimony at 10,000 Degrees. Thank you!”
